Calorie Reduction Plan

I have finally made a resolution to reduce a few pounds ๐Ÿ™‚
I have been hogging ever since I went to India and added considerable number of pounds after my vacation. I had been too lazy to start a diet. Before, it became too late, I decided to control my food intake and hit the gym regularly.

I am not going to follow any particular Diet because ultimately calorie reduction is what will help in weight loss. All diets concentrate on calorie reduction and meal planning. Whether it is Atkins Diet or Cabbage Soup Diet or GM Diet, the number of calories consumed are reduced by avoiding carbohydrates, fat or something else. I have decided to limit my intake to 1200-1500 calories to start with and will work out for 1 hour at the gym.

Meal Planning and Portion Size reduction are 2 things which I need to take care.

Here are a few Healthy Diet Recipes which will help you while on a diet. These are recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. There are both Indian and international recipes.

These are the Food Items I have decided to avoid atleast for a while to reduce my daily calorie intake:-

  • Rice
  • White Bread
  • Milk
  • Beef
  • Pork
  • Sodas
  • Chocolates
  • Ice Cream
  • Packaged Snacks like Potato Chips

These are the food items which I plan to incorporate in my diet:-

  • Fresh veggies like Spinach, Broccoli, Lettuce
  • Chicken Breasts
  • Fish Fillets
  • Yogurt
  • Fruits
  • A few nuts occasionally

I am targeting to reduce atleast 2 lbs a week which is healthy for my body. By consciously reducing high calorie food such as rice and junk food, I hope to achieve my target. If all goes well, I should be able to reduce 8-10 lbs in a month. Sounds Great!!! ๐Ÿ˜›
