You can save a lot for buffet if you use Clipper Magazine coupons. You get weekday lunch buffet for $5, $6 off 2 adult buffets and so on.

As any other Chinese Buffet, Chen’s Buffet has innumerable items but you get tired after tasting a few items. It is just average but if you want to try a Chinese Buffet in University Area, probably you can go ahead. The Buffet has Soups, Sushi Bar, Salad bar, Appetizers, Main Dishes and Desserts.

The restaurant is big and  the service is good. It is generally crowded on weekends.

Hunan Park Chinese Restaurant, Charlotte

The restaurant was small but very neat and well managed. It had a fancy aquarium with beautiful fishes

As usual, I ended up ordering Chicken Fried Rice and my hubby ordered his favourite Shrimp Fried Rice.

The food tasted great and reminded me slightly of the fried rice at Cuisine Malaya in Downtown Charlotte.

The quantity was enormous and we had to request for Boxes. The Service was outstanding and the food was reasonably priced. Overall, it was absolutely worth for the money spent.

We also used restaurant.com gift card during one visit and they had no problems accepting it. The staff is very friendly and polite.

As any other Chinese Buffet, Lotus Buffet has innumerable items but they all taste the same. It is not all that great but if you want to try a Chinese Buffet in University Area, probably you can go ahead. The Buffet has Soups, Sushi Bar, Salad bar, Appetizers, Main Dishes and Desserts.

The restaurant is big but the service is bad. It can get worse on weekends. Often, you end up with a pile of plates on your table as there is nobody to replace it. They don’t replace the buffet dishes quickly when they get over. In general, the food tastes ok but some dishes taste pathetic.

China Palace

When I was new to Charlotte, I badly wanted to have some Chinese Food. My husband introduced me to the so called American-Chinese Restaurants and warned me that the food would be different from the Indian-Chinese restaurants in India. China Palace was the first Chinese restaurant I tried. Initially, I was surprised to see this small restaurant but when I tasted the first spoonful of Spicy Chicken Fried Rice, I knew it was perfect for my taste. Ever since then, we have been regular visitors of China Palace.

I like the Chicken Fried Rice and Lo Mein the best. My husband likes the Pork and Beef Fried Rice. The Vegetarian Fried Rice is equally good. All entrees can be altered to meet your level of spiciness. The quantity you get here is amazing and I often end up requesting for a “To Go” Box. The Service is good and the place is clean. The food is very reasonably priced. Overall, it’s absolutely worth for the money you spent. I have heard they have special Lunch entrees. I find lot of Indians coming to this restaurant, since it is located in the University Area.
